CBACT Festival!

Each year, the Consortium of Boston Area Children's Theatres brings its members together for a fun and entertaining day of workshops and shows suitable for family fun! In 2010, eight Boston-area children's theatres and over 200 children participated in CBACT's third annual festival making for a terrific all-day event!

The mission of CBACT's Children's Theatre Festival is to provide the Boston area community with an annual opportunity to experience and celebrate the entertaining, artistic, educational, and multi-transformational effects of live children’s theatre. This non-competitive festival brings together multiple Boston-area children’s theatres to perform an artistic variety of diverse performances suitable for audiences of all ages.

  • 9:30 The Young Company of Stoneham Theatre presents "Richard Scarry's Busytown" preceded by excerpts from "101 Dalmatians Kids" by the Acton Cooperative Theater
  • 10:30 Myth Making Workshop presented by the Open Road Theatre; Theatre Games Workshop with the South Shore School of Theatre
  • 11:30 TriBoro Youth Theatre presents "Dear Edwina Jr.", preceded by excerpts from "Music Man" by the South Shore School of Theatre
  • 12:30 Lunch available for purchase at the campus cafeteria
  • 1:30 Un-Common Theatre Company's Improv Soup!

    • Festival Information

    The Festival will be hosted by the South Shore School of Theatre and will take place on the campus of Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, MA. Admission is $20 for the day or $5 per show with workshops included in the ticket price; for admission to each workshop session only, admission is $5 per person. There is plenty of free parking available on campus. Lunch is not included but will be available for purchase at the cafeteria on campus.

    There are very few lunch options nearby so CBACT has arranged for pre-ordered boxed lunches to be available on campus for $6, with a choice of ham, turkey or vegetarian (each lunch will also include bottled water, potato chips, an apple, and chocolate chip cookies). There will be a limited number of lunches available for $7 on the day of the Festival. Lunches can be ordered at the same time as ordering tickets for the Festival.

    The CBACT Children’s Theatre Festival is not intended to be used as a day-care service for unattended children. It is the responsibility of the parent(s)/guardian(s), not that of festival staff, to supervise their children and promote safe and appropriate behavior.

    CBACT and all participating organizations are not accountable for any personal items that are lost or stolen during the festival.
